where have all the bloggers gone...

Well folks, i hope you were not feared for my life after reading my last post and then not hearing from me for many moons... but no, i do still inhabit this world, but now my computer doesn't. it started to die on me, and so i sold it. so now, i must wait for my turn on mark's computer, which is rare enough that when i get it i only have time for the really fun stuff like, finances, budget, bills and enrichment coordination. so if anyone would like to start up a "computer for our favorite blogger" fund, i would really think you were neat.
so quick update. we are still waiting to hear about the job at BYU_Idaho, so continue to keep your fingers crossed and prayers said! :) i promise to let you all know as soon as we hear anything. as for the girls, katelyn is now ONE!!!!! and walking (sort of) she still only has two teeth. sarah proudly states that she has 20.
oops. my time is up. i will try to be better at keeping this up!!

mamma's for rent

So here i sit, more like lay, while by head is bloated and nose is snuffed. how i wish there were mamma's to rent for the day. who's to take care when the mamma gets sick? i thought about this as i sat and watched "Sabrina" (a movie, which by the way, i am in the mood for anytime!) and sipped my soup and drank my juice and snuggled in on the couch with a big fuzzy blanket, slippers sarah gave me for christmas and my pillow. i was suddenly brought back to the good old days when you would get that rare opportunity to see just what mom really does when all the kids are at school during the day. and now i know that my perspective was based on a false sampling. for when one is sick, mamma brings soup and juice and caters to your every whim. she would clean about while i was watching a movie to convince me that motherhood was work. but now that i am a mamma myself and have moments, few though they may be, without children i know that motherhood is nothing more than chocolates and movies....

career announcement

Many of you have been wondering what happens next after mark graduates in June. well, we've finally decided and are now announcing it to the world. so hold on to your hats. but first a little background. so, mark and i were at some friends house yesterday for a little round of "Settlers of Catan." :) (needless to say mark won....again.) (don't get excited, this does not mean we are going to homestead in some forsaken island somewhere.) but that is not the point. the point of all of this is to make more records... (Ok, i digress, sheesh. it's awful hard to play the quote game in type.) anyway, so i was telling the McBrides about Mark's ESP capabilities! :) and how i think he is an indigo child. (if you're not sure what that is, look it up on line and you will find a description of mark.) anyway, so we were joking about the whole thing and i was saying that i didn't think there was anything really supernatural about it all, it's just that mark picks up on the subtler things of people and situations better than most and does have some sort of weird sense as to what is about to happen. so Matt tells us to demonstrate, how mark can always finish my thoughts, even when they are totally random. so i say to mark: "i want to buy a... ( i think horse)" Mark suddenly blurts out "Pony" it was insane! i literally lept out of my chair! he did it...on demand... and in front of two witnesses...and we all know what happens by the mouth of two or three witnesses...
so I'm thinking of a career change for mark...we'll just have to buy him a gold tooth and a turban...

The First Mile...

My Chacos have remained by the door for the past few days... it's been so chilly out there. But there has been so much excitement going on indoors, they do not feel they are missing anything.

Well, it has happened at last. Mark and I are parents! There are some that might question that fact, seeing as how we have two children. but well,2007 (and about a week of 2006) has been a big year thus far. For Christmas we had the bitter sweet experiences of finally playing the Santa Clause game. We stayed at our own home for Christmas morning. Craziness! The excitement was only tainted by the fact that I found myself wishing there really was a Santa Clause...that way I didn't have to do the shopping and the staying up to decorate! :) but it was a blast. "Santa" brought Sarah a doll house and a tricycle, and Katelyn some bath toys and books. Not to mention the piles of candy he left on a little table to tempt the eye of a certain three year old. My favorite part was sitting back with just the tree lights looking upon our handywork. It was quite fun.
And the biggest step of all...for the first time, we've installed those annoying little claspy things that go on your cabinets. I can't believe it. I feel like such a mom. The first step to motherhood. well, not quite the first step... :) We've found we need to keep a certain little bald-headed explorer out of the trash. She is quite the determined one, and such a tease. Sarah, just never cared, so this will be the first time we've had to wrestle with those darn things on a regular basis.
So, anyway, welcome to my blog. I will be posting things fairly regularly. Though I cannot guarantee the importance of anything I post! :) Happy reading!
